Activities

Ordinary Lifestyles currently runs two workshops/social groups which are open to everyone.  We are unable to provide full support to people attending however our staff and volunteers are more than happy to assist you. The main aim of all activities is to meet people and have fun!

Food For Thought:
Food for Thought is a cooking group where individuals get involved in making a main meal and dessert, for example by chopping vegetables and choosing meals, along with socialising and building/maintaining relationships with others.

The group is held each Friday from 11am – 2pm at Victoria Mill Hut on Lower Vickers Street, which is kindly lent to us by Adactus Housing Association.  The cost is £5 per session (or £25 for six weeks if paying in advance) which provides a meal for the individual and their support worker.

For more information or to book a place please contact Jason (Group Coordinator) on 07401 443 499.

Fun Factor Social Group:

The social group runs on a Thursday at Ivy Mill Business Centre on the first floor, from 9.30am – 2.00pm. It is just £1 to come, which helps with the cost of activities for the group. There are lots of activities to get involved in such as quizzes, bingo, games, bowling, dominoes, relaxation and music. We have also recently held a meeting with the members of the group to think of fun and different things we could do. Some ideas were trips out to places like the zoo, museums, Blackpool, Wales and more. There were also ideas for activities in the group such as knitting, arts & crafts, dancing, nail painting, acting & filming amongst other things. To kick start these new activities we have recently been visited by a circus performer who performed a show for everyone, then everyone had a go at the different tricks and performed their own show at the end. This was great fun for everyone involved and everyone seemed to have a great time! This is just the start of things to come, and we hope to hold several big activities at different points throughout the year.
