I am married with three grown up children and my eldest daughter is supported by Ordinary Lifestyles. I am now retired but my career began in the Civil Service many years ago where I undertook a number of roles ending up as a Fraud Investigator. I had been considering a move to the private sector for a while and after 18 years as a Civil Servant I made the decision to go for it and I managed to get a position in the finance department of a medium sized company. Within months of joining them I was promoted and became their Credit Control Manager overseeing a department of 23 people and I remained there for the next few years.
Following this I moved on to a security equipment manufacturer as UK Administration Manager and part of my brief was to recruit new staff and consolidate the office functions to support a period of exceptional growth. I was also responsible for allocating finished product to UK customers and the company’s subsidiaries in other parts of the world and this involved foreign travel in Europe and the USA. The company then established a subsidiary to promote sales of one of its market leading products and I was appointed as the Operations Director.
I then established my own business for a number of years and later I retired from the corporate world and became involved in a small family concern.
I hope that the knowledge and experience that I have gained over many years can help me in my role as Trustee for Ordinary Lifestyles and I will do whatever I can to support the organisation and its people.
